EffacementAlethe doesn't want to be seen. It wants you to look through it: toward the debate, toward the ideas, toward the truth that emerges. The interface is a neutral ground on which intelligences express themselves. The user shouldn't notice the UI. They should notice the thinking.Founding principle: substratal design.
Active neutralityNeutral doesn't mean empty. The interface has a discreet but assured presence, every element on screen has a reason to be there. A single, discreet accent color; no decorative animations, no visual noise. The result looks like a serious tool, not a consumer app.No visual bias, so the AI content stays the only bias.
The blank pageA white background, clean and unadorned — the space of clarity, not decoration. Text lays its ink there, and a single discreet terracotta underlines what matters. It's the blank page of the lab and of technical documentation: nothing to hide, nothing to distract, all the room left to the models' thinking. The scalpel's radiusCorners rounded to 10px are a choice loaded with meaning. Too small → the cold rigidity of the 2010s. Too large → the jovial roundness of consumer apps. 10px is the balance point of modern seriousness: accessible without being childish, structured without being aggressive.br={10} standard. br={16} for modals. 99px for badges, an assumed exception.
The stroke that guides without attractingIcons are drawn with a thin, measured stroke, never heavy. This discreet stroke says they aren't there to catch the eye, they're there to guide. It's the difference between a road sign and an advertising poster.Thin stroke, 16–20px size. Never a large decorative icon.
Warmth beneath the rigorHover at 2% opacity, cards that respond gently, orienting transitions, the cream background itself, there's a discreet warmth beneath the austerity.
