Sequential DebateAlethe AI's first debate mode. Each model receives the question and the previous models' responses — then replies, critiques, and refines.
How does a debate unfold?
1
You ask your questionThe user submits a question or topic to debate. Alethe AI automatically selects the models suited to your plan.
2
Model 1 answers firstThe first model (e.g. GPT) receives only your question and a critical system prompt — it never simply validates, it analyzes and takes a position.
3
Model 2 receives Model 1's responseThe second model (e.g. Gemini) receives your question + the first model's response. It can agree, nuance, or contradict with arguments.
4
Model 3 synthesizes bothThe third model (Pro plan) receives your question + both previous responses. It has the most complete view and can identify contradictions.
5
Agreement score calculationAn algorithm measures the semantic agreement level between all responses via vector embeddings. If score ≥ 80%, we move to the arbitrator. Otherwise, a new round begins.
6
The arbitrator delivers its verdictAn arbitrator model (separate from the debaters) reads all the exchanges and produces the ConsensusSnapshot: final answer + key points + confidence score.
RoundsIf the agreement score is insufficient after the first turn, the orchestrator triggers a new round. This time, each AI also receives the context of identified disagreements — forcing a more precise and convergent debate.

System promptsEach AI receives two levels of system prompt:
Universal personalityForbids the AI from simply validating previous responses. It must analyze, critique, nuance — never agree without reason.
Dynamic contextEvolves each round: contains the state of the debate, identified points of disagreement, and the current agreement score.
Stop at any timeYou can interrupt a debate at any round. The arbitrator is still triggered to produce a partial consensus — and credits are deducted pro-rata for the work completed.
